Kelvin Benjamin torn ACL fantasy football draft impact

Kelvin Benjamin is out for the season with a torn ACL. You probably learned this on various social media platforms, via push notifications on your phone, or from your fellow fantasy football league mates. In fact, Benjamin was the top trending topic on my Twitter account followed by Chase Utley to the Dodgers and Deez Nuts, er, polling at nine percent in North Carolina.

What you need to know about the season-ending injury to Benjamin:

He finished 17th in fantasy points scored among wide receivers in standard scoring leagues and 16th in points per game (13.28) in PPR leagues last season. Benjamin's nine receiving touchdowns tied for sixth in the NFL last season (E. Sanders).

Cam Newton's top target now most likely becomes tight end Greg Olsen. He was already ranked TE3 in our composite rankings. Rookie receiver Devin Funchess is in position to see an increased workload off the jump, but he, too, is dealing with an injury (hamstring). Maybe the seventh round right now? We don't know much. Others in the mix for work include Philly Brown, Ted Ginn and incumbent Jerricho Cotchery, who scored one touchdown in 2014.
