Kings, Canucks make NHL history as first teams to play in China during 2017-18
It's a huge day for the LA Kings franchise ... and the NHL.
On Wednesday, it was announced the Kings would be one of the first two NHL teams to play in China during the 2017-18 season.
The Kings will face on the Canucks in preseason action on Sept. 21 at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai and Sept 23 at LeSports Center in Beijing.
"It is a privilege and an honor for the L.A. Kings to represent the National Hockey League in China as part of these two games against the Vancouver Canucks," said Kings President, Business Operations and Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille, in a release. "Growing the game of hockey is something we take great pride in and it is a big priority for our hockey club and AEG as a whole. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our players and our staff, and we are looking forward to the games taking place in two tremendous facilities in two remarkable cities."
