Kings to host 'Bob Miller Appreciation Day' on April 8

The LA Kings are sending off Bob Miller in style.

Declaring April 8 'Bob Miller Appreciation Day' at Staples Center, the Kings and fans will celebrate the stellar 44-year career of the broadcasting Hall of Famer.

As the 'Voice of the LA Kings,' Miller announced he would be retiring due to health reasons at the end of the the 2016-17 season. The home game against the Blackhawks will be Miller's final at Staples before calling it a career with a Freeway Faceoff against the Anaheim Ducks in Anaheim the following day.

To commemorate the day, the Kings have released two special logos, each of which will be etched into the ice for the game:

Fans are encouraged to submit their favorite photos and messages to Bob using the hashtag #ThankYouBob, some of which will be displayed in the arena throughout the game. While FOX Sports West will be giving all fans in attendance a 'Thank You Bob' t-shirt and cheer card with a special message from Bob. The Kings are also hosting a fan fest prior to the game.

All of this will culminate in Bob giving a farewell address to the crowd following the game. So, fans will want to stick around even after the final horn sounds.
