Lightning center Cedric Paquette named NHL's Second Star of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Lightning center Cedric Paquette was named the NHL's Second Star for the Week ending Sunday.

The native of Gaspe, Quebec, led the NHL with five goals from last Tuesday to Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets. The Lightning went 2-1 in the span, the lone loss coming against the Hurricanes last Tuesday.

Paquette, 21, has 10 goals and six assists in 41 games this season, and he recorded his first NHL career hat trick in a victory over the Red Wings last Thursday. He has five goals and four assists in his past 10 games.

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was named the NHL's first star and Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk the third.
