Lumberjacks return home for 2 Big Sky games

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- The Northern Arizona men's basketball team returns home this week for a pair of Big Sky Conference matchups with North Dakota and Northern Colorado.

Thursday's game against North Dakota can be seen on FOX Sports Arizona Plus, starting at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday's game vs. Northern Colorado can be seen on FOX Sports Arizona, starting at 2 p.m.

The Lumberjacks, with 11 freshmen on the roster and three in the starting lineup, have struggled to a 3-13 start and are 1-4 in Big Sky play. Junior guard Kris Yanku is averaging a team-high 14.4 points per game, while junior center Ako Kaluna is contributing 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds.

NAU has a two-game winning streak over North Dakota and won the most recent outing, 85-75, last February. North Dakota is 8-9 overall and 3-3 in the Big Sky. The Fighting Hawks are led by the No. 2 scorer in the conference in Quinton Hooker (21.3 points per game).

Northern Colorado is 5-13 overall and 2-4 in Big Sky play. Dallas Anglin leads the Bears in scoring with 17.7 points per game.
