Some of the representatives for the Miami Marlins were on display early Tuesday night in the All-Star Game, a 4-2 American League win over the National League.

Center fielder Marcell Ozuna was starting for the National league side and batting seventh, striking out against Corey Kluber to end the top half of the second inning.

Ace right-hander Jose Fernandez ended up making an appearance in the bottom half of the frame, when he came in of relief of starter Johnny Cueto and promptly struck out Mike Trout to finish off the inning.

Fernandez hit some bumps in the third, getting Manny Machado to ground out to third before walking David Ortiz that featured plenty of fastballs and some playful ribbing after the base on balls. Ortiz, playing in his final All-Star Game, was replaced by Edwin Encarnacion on first and left the field to a standing ovation.

Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts followed that with a double to the left-field corner, and Encarnacion came in to score when Eric Hosmer ripped a sharp grounder past Kris Bryant.

Fernandez finished his appearance with some flash, however, when he gathered a comebacker from Mookie Betts to start an inning ending double play.

Fernandez's final line was: 1 1/3 innings, two hits, one walk, one strikeout and one earned run on 26 pitches (16 strikes).

He was relieved by Padres lefty Drew Pomeranz in the fourth.

Ozuna was replaced by Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Fernando Rodney, who spent the first part of the season with the Padres before he was traded to the Marlins on June 30, entered for the NL in the bottom of the eighth, striking out Miguel Cabrera and getting Michael Saunders to pop out in the infield before being removed in favor of Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen.

Neither Marlins closer A.J. Ramos nor Rays closer Alex Colome got into the game.
