Marquette rallies back from 15-point deficit to top Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. -- Sacar Anim scored 26 points and Marquette rallied from a 15-point, second-half deficit to beat Creighton 90-86 on Saturday night.



Marcus Foster made a 3-pointer to open the second half that stretched the Bluejays' lead to 56-41. Marquette answered with a 26-9 run to tie it 67-67 with 10:31 remaining. Neither team led by more than two points until the final 1:14 when Anim hit a jumper and Sam Hauser made two free throws to cap the scoring.

Anim was 11 of 16 from the floor. Andrew Rowsey added 21 points and Hauser had 15 for Marquette (15-11, 6-8 Big East Conference).

Khyri Thomas scored a career-high 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting to lead Creighton (19-8, 8-6). Thomas was honored before the game in recognition of surpassing 1,000 career points last Saturday. Foster had 12 points and Toby Hegner chipped in 10 for the Bluejays.
