Marshawn Lynch's mom wants Seahawks OC fired: 'The worst play caller ever'
The Seattle Seahawks' NFC championship defense got off to a rough start in a 34-31 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday that ended when Rams defensive linemen Michael Brockers and Aaron Donald stuffed running back Marshawn Lynch for a 1-yard loss on 4th-and-1 in OT.
On Monday night, Lynch's outspoken, Skittles-doling mother Delisa went to Facebook to post some strong words about the play — as well as an indictment of Seattle's offensive line, thoughts about Russell Wilson getting sacked and Pro Bowl safety Kam Chancellor's ongoing holdout.
It's no more harsh than what you'll read in any Seahawks online forum or newspapers across the country, but coming from the running back's corner, it feels a bit different.
"I can't tell you how, but they got penetration on it," Carroll told reporters about the game-ending play. "We had been making 2 and 3 yards on that all day long. That was a play we had been making all throughout the day, and it worked well. I don't know how they got the penetration, but they did and we weren't able to knock it in."
Truth is, the Seahawks offensive line is the team's weakest unit and the team is far worse at the safety position with Dion Bailey filling in for Chancellor. In the fourth quarter, Bailey fell down trying to cover Rams tight end Lance Kendricks who scored a 37-yard touchdown that tied the game 31-31 on the play.
Delisa wrote in another post Tuesday afternoon: "Now for the post that won't go viral, our team will be fine we need some fine tuning and kam back out there!!!"
