LAS VEGAS -- Jordyn Martin scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, leading Northern Arizona to a 71-57 win over Alabama State at the Global Sports Classic on Friday.

Martyn went 9 of 15 from the field and 8 of 9 from the line to finish one point shy of his career high. Seven of his rebounds were on the offensive end.

Marcus DeBerry added 15 points and JoJo Anderson 13 for the Lumberjacks (2-5).

"I was proud of how we came out offensively," NAU coach Jack Murphy said. "I thought our offense really helped our defense today. We limited our turnovers and with our three-guard lineup that we started with today helped us to control the ball and pace of the game."

Both teams struggled shooting, especially from distance -- Alabama State was 2 of 23, NAU 4 of 19 -- but the Lumberjacks made 21 of 29 from the line to 9 of 13 for the Hornets.

Corvon Butler had 12 points for Alabama State (0-5) but only two in the second half.

The only lead for the Hornets was 2-0 and Northern Arizona scored the next 11 with five different players scoring. The Lumberjacks led 37-31 at the half.
