CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Miami linebacker Marques Gayot is expected to make a full recovery after injuring his neck during practice Wednesday.

School officials say Gayot will be released from Jackson Memorial Hospital on Thursday, and that he was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center there in an abundance of caution. Gayot will wear a neck collar as he recovers and no timetable for his return to football-related activity was announced, nor were the specifics of the injury.

Gayot has seven tackles in three games this season, and is tied for the team lead with 1 1/2 sacks.
