Milan Lucic thanks Bruins fans in letter before return to Boston
Milan Lucic is in a nostalgic mood.
Heading back to the city of his NHL debut and only Stanley Cup victory, the LA Kings forward thanked the Boston Bruins fans in a letter posted on the Players' Tribue website on Monday.
Lucic spent eight seasons with the Bruins before being traded to the Kings in the summer of 2014. On Tuesday, he'll return to Boston for the first time since departing for LA.
Among the letter's highlights, Lucic fondly recounts his first meeting with Bruins giantesque defenseman Zdeno Chara - "That's what he said! Hi, I'm Zdeno. Like I didn't know. Like I wasn't freaking out about it."
He gives us a glimpse into his preparation for his first NHL fight:
And even gives us a behind the scenes recollection of the trade that sent him to LA before thanking Boston fans for their support during the time he spent in Bruins' gold and black:
