MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Middle Tennessee has agreed to a three-game football deal with Missouri with the series starting in 2016 and featuring a trip by the Southeastern Conference team to Tennessee in 2022.

Athletic director Chris Massaro announced the contract Wednesday.

Under this deal, Middle Tennessee will visit Missouri on Oct. 22, 2016, and again on Sept. 9, 2023. The two-time SEC Eastern Division champs will visit Middle Tennessee on Sept. 17, 2022. Missouri beat Middle Tennessee 41-40 in overtime in 2003 in the only game between the teams.

Missouri will be the third SEC team to play at Floyd Stadium. Middle Tennessee hosted Mississippi State in 2009, and Vanderbilt visits Oct. 3 and again in 2017. Duke also is scheduled to visit in 2019.
