Mizzou's D-line takes a hit with dismissal of two players
Mizzou's defensive line took a hit Wednesday -- a significant one -- but considering its depth, it's not necessarily fatal.
Defensive end Walter Brady was dismissed from the team for violating unspecified team rules and defensive tackle Harold Brantley is no longer with the team due to academic failures, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday.
Brady was a freshman All-American last season, while Brantley, one of the SEC's top defensive tackles in 2014, missed all of last season recovering from injuries suffered in a car accident in June 2015. The Tigers had been expecting Brantley's healthy return for 2016.
Even minus the two players, the Tigers should have a solid, though not necessarily stellar, defensive line with such returnees as end Charles Harris and tackles Terry Beckner Jr. and Josh Augusta.
