Columbus Blue Jackets acquisition Brandon Saad is about to get a northeast Ohio welcome.

Saad, who came over to the Blue Jackets from the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks in a blockbuster offseason trade, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Wednesday's Indians game.

He will also take batting practice before the game at Progressive Field.

Teammate Ryan Johansen will test his mound skills Monday night at the Cincinnati Reds game.

In just three seasons, Saad is already a two-time Cup champ and finished third in goals and fourth in points on the Blackhawks' star-studded squad last season. Clutch is one adjective to use in relation to Saad, who scored six game-winning goals in 2014-15.

The Blue Jackets are back on the ice to start the 2015-16 regular season Oct. 9 against the New York Rangers.
