New Mexico State rallies to beat San Diego
SAN DIEGO -- Ian Baker scored 15 points and made 7 of 8 free throws, Jemerrio Jones had 14 points and New Mexico State rallied to a 56-51 win over San Diego on Saturday to close out the San Diego Classic.
Down by three at halftime and trailing for much of the second half, the Aggies rallied to a 44-42 lead after Baker's two free throws with 4:11 to play. They pulled away on Jones' jumper and free throw and Baker hit four more from the line for a 53-49 lead.
San Diego led 23-20 at halftime on Brett Bailey's jumper and shot 25 percent from the floor to the Aggies' 31 percent.
Braxton Huggins scored 11 points for the Aggies (5-2), who made 24 of 31 (77.4 percent) from the foul line.
Brett Bailey scored 24 points and had a career-high seven assists for San Diego (2-4).
