OF Mike Trout named American League starter for All-Star Game
It goes without saying that Angels star Mike Trout is one of the best players in all of Major League Baseball.
The fans have Trout's back, too.
The regining American League Most Valuable Player was named the starting AL center fielder for July 14's All-Star Game on FOX, it was announced by MLB on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old, also the MVP of last year's ASG, is hitting .300 (through 81 games) with 21 home runs, 44 RBI and 59 runs.
Trout, headed to his fourth-career All-Star Game and his third-career start in the outfield, been nothing short of fantastic in 2015 -- with his bat, his glove and reaching out to special fans.
ASG reserves -- possibly Angels first baseman Albert Pujols -- pitchers, and final vote counts will be announced on Monday at 4 p.m. PT.
Congratulations, @miketrout, on being voted a starter in the 2015 @AllStarGame. Thanks for your votes, #HaloNation! pic.twitter.com/tC3YvWgMhs
