NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma will be without starting forward Joanna McFarland indefinitely after she had surgery to fix a broken jaw.

Team spokesman Jared Thompson says McFarland was injured during the Sooners' loss at Oklahoma State on Saturday and had surgery Monday. There's no timetable for when McFarland will return.

McFarland was averaging 8.7 points and a team-best 8.1 rebounds while starting the first 15 games for Oklahoma.

Before missing the Sooners' 66-57 victory at 23rd-ranked Kansas State on Tuesday night, McFarland had played in all 88 of Oklahoma's games during her career.

The team was already without another veteran post player, Lyndsey Cloman, with a season-ending knee injury.
