CARSON, Calif. (AP) -- The LA Galaxy have reacquired goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts in a trade with Orlando SC.

The Galaxy sent a second-round draft pick in 2016 to Orlando on Thursday.

Ricketts played for the Galaxy from 2009-11, winning the 2011 MLS Cup title. His 70 appearances for the Galaxy are the second-most in franchise history behind Kevin Hartman.

He was MLS' Goalkeeper of the Year in 2010 and again in 2013 with the Portland Timbers.

Ricketts has shared playing time with Tally Hall in Orlando, which made him the No. 1 pick in its expansion draft.

The Galaxy made the move shortly after confirming the departure of Jaime Penedo, the starting goalkeeper on last season's championship team.

Ricketts will share time with goalkeeper Brian Rowe, who has started seven games for the Galaxy.
