Packers sign five-time Pro Bowl tight end Graham
The Green Bay Packers made official Friday what was rumored since the opening of free agency: the team signed tight end Jimmy Graham.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Graham has 556 career receptions for 6,800 yards and 69 touchdowns, the latter ranks fourth all-time among NFL tight ends.
Graham began his career with New Orleans, twice posting over 1,200 receiving yards and three times reaching double-digits in touchdowns. In 2015 he was traded to Seattle, where his production dwindled. This past season he did have 10 TDs but caught 52 passes for 520 yards, the second-lowest total of his career.
The Packers tried the free-agent market last year for a tight end when they signed Martellus Bennett and Lance Kendricks, but Bennett didn't last long in Green Bay and Kendricks, who is still on the roster, had a career-low 18 receptions.
Not known for making a splash in free agency under Ted Thompson, Graham is the second big signing by new general manager Brian Gutekunst, with defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson having signed Thursday.
