Packers snap counts: Randall gets right back in the swing of things

Published Dec. 9, 2016 12:38 p.m. ET

Damarious Randall hadn't played since Green Bay's fifth game of the season, when he played just 18 snaps before suffering a groin injury.

There was no easing Randall back in the lineup once he was ready to return.

The cornerback played in 57 defensive snaps (97 percent) against Philadelphia and recorded six tackles, second-most on the team.

Randall's return helped solidify a banged-up secondary, which had struggled in the previous four games but did not allow a touchdown against the Eagles, whose longest completion was for just 24 yards.

Some other notes from Monday night's snap counts:

-- The Ha Ha Clinton-Dix 100 percent play watch is finally over. For the first time this season, the safety did not appear on every defensive snap -- he missed one play against the Eagles.

-- For just the fifth time this season, the Packers had their five starting offensive linemen play every snap. Three of those came in the first four games. Since then, only in this game and vs. Indianapolis has Green Bay not had to sub in on the offensive line.

-- James Starks was in on 54 offensive snaps, or 76 percent, which is his highest percentage of the season. Starks had 17 carries -- the first time since Eddie Lacy went on injured reserve that someone on Green Bay had double-digit carries.

-- Speaking of running backs, Christine Michael was in on just 2 snaps. Fullback Joe Kerridge, making his debut on offense, played 3 snaps as Green Bay ran down the clock late in the game.

-- With Starks getting a lot of playing time and Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams and Randall Cobb in on most plays, Ty Montgomery had just 16 snaps (23 percent), his lowest on-field time (when he's been active) since the fourth game of the season.

-- Linebacker Joe Thomas has now played in every snap for three straight games. The previous contest against Indianapolis? He saw 13 snaps (19 percent).
