Perfect birthday: Atkinson scores a goal to get a young girl a puppy
A day after Bobby Ryan of the Ottawa Senators scored a goal earning a young fan a new furry member of the family, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson did the same.
A young girl sitting in the front row of Nationwide Arena was spotted holding a sign saying, "Dad said if 13 scores on my birthday we get a dog."

And, she didn't have to wait long for her day to be made.
With time winding down in the first period of Monday night's game, Atkinson netted his first goal of the night.
As if one goal wasn't enough, Atkinson netted another goal in the second period then a third in the third period for the hat trick, which begs the question - does three goals mean three dogs?
