Peterson named NFC Offensive Player of the Month
Vikings star Adrian Peterson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November, after rushing for a league-best 634 yards in the month.
Peterson did his damage on just 117 carries and also produced five touchdowns in November. His 634 yards in the month represent the most he has had in a single month since December 2012, when Peterson ran for a franchise-high 861 yards. The six-time Pro Bowler also established a team record for the most November rushing yards this season.
The award marks the second time that Peterson has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Month, his first honor coming in December 2012, which culminated in Peterson being named the league's MVP. He's the first Viking to win Player of the Month since defensive end Everson Griffen won the defensive honor in October 2014.
Peterson currently ranks 18th on the NFL's all-time rushing list with 11,354 yards. The Oklahoma product leads the NFL with 1,164 rushing yards and is second in the league with eight rushing scores.
