Jonathan Quick is rewriting American hockey record books.
With 27 saves in a 5-0 drubbing of the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night, Quick posted his third shutout of the season and 40th of his career. The LA Kings' Stanley Cup winning goaltender is now tied with John Vanbiesbrouck and Frank Brimsek for most all-time by a US-born netminder.

In just nine seasons, the Connecticut native has charged up the all-time shutout charts passing fellow Americans Ryan Miller and Tom Barrasso. Quick is now tied for third most shutouts all-time by active goalies with Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury.
His 40th career shutout comes in 446 and 78 games less than Vanbiesbrouck and Brimsek, respectively.
