Rams RB Todd Gurley isn't waiting for the Super Bowl to come to him
Super Bowl 55 is headed to Los Angeles in five years and for one Rams player that wait is too long.
TMZ Sports caught up with Rams running back Todd Gurley outside of LAX to ask him what he thought about LA hosting the Super Bowl in 2021. Sporting a pair of dark aviator glasses and headphones, Gurley makes it known he's not looking that far in the future. Next year's Super Bowl is where he plans to be.
In his rookie season, Gurley ran for 1,106 yards in just 13 games and was the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. This season the team is likely to start No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff at quarterback in the team's first season back in LA in over 20 years.
In the video, Gurley also makes it clear he'll be at the 'next Super Bowl' in Atlanta. Whether or not he was mistaken thinking next year's Super Bowl is located in the same state he played his college football -- next year's Super Bowl is in Houston, while Super Bowl 53 will be in Atlanta's new stadium in 2019 -- is unclear. He does say he plans on being at the LA Super Bowl as well.
So that's either three Super Bowls in five years or two. Either way, the Rams and the LA football fans would be thrilled if Gurley made good on his promise.
