The former No. 8 overall pick was dealt for the 192nd overall in this year's draft

The Los Angeles Rams continued their streak of big offseason moves by shipping wide receiver Tavon Austin to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 6th-round draft pick (192nd overall) Saturday.

Austin, who spent his entire five-year career with the Rams beginning in St. Louis, had his worst season across the board in 2017, totaling just 47 yards on 13 catches and zero touchdowns. The former No. 8 overall pick in 2013 seems excited to make the next step in his career.

Losing Austin is the second big name lost in the receiving corp for the Rams this offseason after the departure of Sammy Watkins, but they also acquired Brandin Cooks through a pre-draft trade and return their two biggest targets from 2017 in Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp.

There is speculation Austin will be used as a wide receiver / running back hybrid in the Dallas offense to provide a solid combination for the powerful Ezekiel Elliot in the backfield, while also getting opportunities to show his speed catching balls downfield.

In his career, Austin tallied 1,689 yards on 194 catches and 12 touchdowns. He also accounted for 1,238 yards on 184 carries and nine touchdowns on the ground.

The Rams now have five sixth-round picks and one in the seventh.
