Redskins VP saves Colt McCoy from dreaded post-win interview

Published Oct. 27, 2014 11:53 p.m. ET

Colt McCoy had himself quite the Monday night.

The former Texas quarterback, who has bounced around the NFL over the past few years, got a chance to start against the Dallas Cowboys. All he did was complete 25 of 30 passes for 299 yards and lead the Washington Redskins to a thrilling overtime victory.

But that's when the trouble started. McCoy did one postgame interview with ESPN, but before he could leave the field, he was grabbed by another TV reporter with a microphone. Would Colt get stuck there all night?!

NO!

That's when Redskins Vice President of Communications Tony Wyllie pulled a Kevin Costner and swooped in to make the save. He grabbed young McCoy and headed for higher ground. When the TV reporter protested, that's when Wyllie pulled out the line of the year:

"No means no!!" See for yourself:

It was an awkward finish to a wonderful evening for McCoy, who also had a handshake fail with head coach Jay Gruden.
