Reduced to 10 men, Orlando City rolled by Columbus Crew
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Federico Higuain and Kei Kamara each had a goal and an assist and the Columbus Crew beat Orlando City 3-0 on Saturday night.
Higuain opened the scoring in the 32nd minute for Columbus (2-2-2). Ethan Finlay hustled to gather a failed clearance by Rafael Ramos and he fed Higuain in front of the net for a nifty back-heel goal.
Ramos was given a red card 2 minutes later for Orlando (2-3-2) after a studs-up tackle on Waylon Francis, which started a few skirmishes.
Kamara assisted on Justin Meram's score in the 55th minute and netted his own goal 5 minutes later. Kamara picked the pocket of a defender in Orlando's penalty box and Meram hammered in the finish. Then Kamara ran down Higuain's diagonal cross and chipped goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts, who had come out of his box.
Columbus' Steve Clark stayed low at the near post and used quick hands to block Kevin Molino's close-range shot in first-half stoppage time. It was Clark's third shutout of the season.
