Ref restarts Field Hockey World Cup game with only one team on field

If you think a referee wouldn't blow the whistle to start a game if your team isn't on the field yet, you'd be wrong. Just ask the Belgian women's field hockey team.

During Saturday's World Cup game against Korea, the Belgian women's halftime meeting ran long, and the squad was just running out of the tunnel as the second half was set to start. The players were just barely able to get to the bench to grab their sticks when a referee blew the whistle to start the second half.

Play started with one out of 11 Belgian players on the field, and the goalie lumbering far behind.

The Korean squad missed a golden opportunity to score in the numbers-up situation, but went on to win the game 4-2.
