According to BBC Sport, Martins agreed to a multi-million dollar deal with the Chinese Super League team. He joins a growing number of high profile signings at the Chinese club that include Demba Ba, Fredy Guarin and Tim Cahill.

The terms of the deal have not been released.

The 31-year-old Martins joined the Sounders in March 2013 where he scored 43 goals in 84 appearances, teaming up with Clint Dempsey in attack.

Martins' departure opens the door for a prominent role right off the bat for rising USMNT star and new Seattle signing Jordan Morris. Morris opted to join his hometown team over an offer from Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.

The move also opens up a Designated Player spot on Seattle’s roster, giving the MLS club room to make another high-profile signing.
