Report: Thunder to trade Hasheem Thabeet to Sixers

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 5:10 p.m. ET

Hasheem Thabeet is going to be traded to Philadelphia, ESPN is reporting.

Thabeet, who has been a back-up to Kendrick Perkins as well as Steven Adams, played sparingly for the Thunder. He appeared in 23 games last season and two in the playoffs. Thabeet only averaged 8.3 minutes per game last year.

Both Perkins and Adams are returning to the Thunder this season. The Thunder also have Mitch McGary at the center position.

The Thunder will receive a $1.2 million traded-player exception and a protected second-round pick. The Thunder are $2.9 million under the luxury tax for the upcoming season.

Thabeet played for the Thunder the past two seasons and has also played for Portland, Houston and Memphis. ESPN is reportedly going to waive Thabeet.
