Roby, Agbeko lead SLU to 74-69 win over Eastern Illinois
ST. LOUIS -- Davell Roby and Reggie Agbeko scored 18 points each and Saint Louis rallied for a 74-69 victory over Eastern Illinois on Thursday night.
Cornell Johnston made two free throws to get Eastern Illinois (1-2) within two, 71-69, with eight seconds remaining but Muusa Dama was called for an intentional foul and Saint Louis (2-1) retained possession after Mike Crawford made 1 of 2 free throws before Jermaine Bishop added two more.
Trailing 44-33 at halftime, the Billikens scored the first 15 points, including six each from Agbeko and Elliott Welmer to grab a four-point lead.
The Panthers came back to take a 59-57 lead on Patrick Muldoon's basket with 6:23 left before Roby put the Billikens up for good on a 3-pointer with 5:29 to go.
Welmer finished with 15 points and Bishop 14 points and eight assists for Saint Louis, which made half of its 16 3-point attempts.
Johnson led EIU with 18 points and seven assists. Dama had 15 rebounds.
