SLU's late run fails to overtake La Salle in 76-68 loss
PHILADELPHIA -- Cleon Roberts hit six 3-pointers and scored 23 points to lead La Salle to a 76-68 win over Saint Louis on Wednesday night.
The win gives the Explorers (8-20, 4-13 Atlantic 10) back-to-back wins for the first time since opening the season with three straight wins.
Roberts finished 6 of 9 from long range and hit 8 of 12 shots overall. Jordan Price added 14 points and Tony Washington had 11 for La Salle.
Davell Roby led Saint Louis (10-19, 5-12) with 16 points. Jermaine Bishop finished with 15 points and Mike Crawford had 14.
The Explorers led 60-45 with 7:73 left in the game, but Saint Louis fought back, cutting it to 73-68 after a Roby 3-pointer with 50 seconds to go. Amar Stukes hit 1 of 2 at the line for La Salle, then Price added two more to extend the Explorers lead back to eight and seal it.
