StaTuesday: Sharks' Pavelski moving up Badgers alumni list

San Jose center Joe Pavelski might be "little Joe" to Sharks fans, but at 31 years old the former University of Wisconsin scorer is looming very large on the Badgers' all-time NHL scoring list.

Pavelski was named an all-star for the second time last week, nearly 10 years after he helped lead the Badgers to their most recent national title in 2006, and now checks in at No. 6 among Wisconsin's NHL alumni.

The Sharks star might have a few years to go if he wants to pass alumni scoring leader Chris Chelios -- who famously played well into this 40s en route to a whopping 948 career points -- but the veteran playmaker is showing few signs of slowing down.

He recently passed retired defenseman Brian Rafalski, and now has 48 points heading into the all-star break, putting him on pace for yet another big season.

Pavelski even has a shot at catching former Sharks teammate Dany Heatley if he can stay both healthy and productive as he enters his early 30s.
