The ultimate New York Mets pitching parlay at the races Friday
Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom provide quite a 1-2 punch in the New York Mets' rotation.
Friday, horses named for the Amazin' young hurles could fatten up wallets for fans of the Citi Field team.
In the first race at Saratoga, a $200,000 stakes race, Syndergaard comes into the event as the 6-5 favorite on the morning line.
The 2-year-old was dazzling in his debut and looks every bit a good runner.
Coincidentally, another 2-year-old, DeGrom -- spelling a bit different than the pitcher -- has been entered in the fifth race at Monmouth, a maiden special weight.
DeGrom, the horse, is 6-1 on the morning line in what looks like a wide-open affair.
If the horses can run as fast as their namesake throw, it could prove to be the perfect parlay punch.
No telling on whether their manes match the pitchers'.
And to complete the trifecta -- but the horse will only get in if the race if off the turf -- Cespedes is a main-track only entry in the sixth at the Spa.
