Tigers-White Sox game postponed due to inclement weather
DETROIT -- The Tigers-White Sox game scheduled for Saturday afternoon has been postponed because of inclement weather.
With rain predicted to last until late into the night, the game was called two hours before the scheduled 4:08 p.m. start time.
The White Sox return to Detroit Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 21-23.
The game has been rescheduled for Monday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. as part of a day-night doubleheader.
The White Sox play in Cleveland before that series, so it will be an easy trip to make sure they're in town by Sunday night.
The rotation was affected by the rainout.
Both Kyle Ryan and John Danks, scheduled to pitch Saturday, will not pitch Sunday.
Sunday's starters of David Price and Jeff Samardzija will pitch as scheduled.
The Tigers said Tuesday's starter against the Pittsburgh Pirates is currently TBA.
Justin Verlander, who missed his last start because of mid-back stiffness, threw a bullpen Saturday and the Tigers said they would have an update on his status Sunday.
Verlander said Friday he hoped to be able to start Tuesday.
