TUF Talk: Hayder Hassan to Kamaru Usman: 'I'm going to break his face'

Published Jul. 8, 2015 11:05 p.m. ET

Hayder Hassan had one of the most incredible runs in 'Ultimate Fighter' history this season as he fought three times in just 17 days en route to helping American Top Team defeat the Blackzilians in the final bout to clinch the competition.

Despite an injured rib and no time to prepare between fights, Hassan gutted out a huge victory over Vicente Luque in Wednesday night's final episode to get American Top Team the win over their heated rivals from South Florida.

Now that the show is finished, Hassan is preparing for one more fight to put American Top Team in first place once and for all as he faces Blackzilians team captain Kamaru Usman this Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Hassan and Usman chirped at each other quite a bit during the season, but they never got matched up on the show. That all changes on Sunday when Hassan faces Usman with $300,000 on the line as well as 'The Ultimate Fighter' trophy for the season winner.

Hassan can't deny his ill will towards Usman, especially after all the trash talk he endured from the Blackzilian fighter during the filming of the show. He's excited to finally shut him up while getting another win for his guys at American Top Team.

"I'm going to break his face," Hassan told TUF Talk. "I don't really care, I'm going to go out there and break his face. He's been calling me overrated, which I don't know how I'm overrated. I'm 5-0 versus your team. My past five fights have been against your team. I knocked out (Jason) Jackson, I knocked out (Felipe) Portela, I knocked out your world champion karate striker (Andrews) Nakahara and then I beat Portela again and then I beat Vicente (Luque) so it's like what part of me is overrated?

"If I'm overrated, what is your team? Not only is he disrespecting me but he's disrespecting his teammates."

Usman went 2-0 during the competition this season as well, but Hassan isn't sure outside of the reality show that he's ever experienced a real fight. He'll be more than happy to introduce Usman to his fists when they meet on Sunday and the Blackzilians captain will find out just how it feels to get cracked by one of the hardest hitters from American Top Team.

"I promise you he is going to experience his first real legitimate fight. He's never been in a real fight before," Hassan said. "I'm going to break his face and I'm going to do it with a smile on my face."
