TULSA, Okla. -- Shaquille Harrison led six players into double-digit scoring with 15 points as Tulsa defeated Northern Arizona 90-55 Tuesday night.
The Golden Hurricane (8-4) opened on a 19-0 run, Northern Arizona not scoring until there was 12:24 left to play in the first half.
Tulsa made seven of its first nine shots -- including 3-pointers from Pat Birt, Rashad Ray and James Woodard -- in the opening blast and finished the game shooting 56.5 percent (35-62).
D'Andre Wright and Sterling Taplin scored 13 points each for Tulsa, Woodard 12, and Rashad Smith and Ray 11 each. Ray added seven assists and Smith had six steals. In the first half, Ray whipped a no-look pass behind him to Smith, who finished the breakaway with a dunk.
Tulsa led 47-20 at halftime, its most first-half points of the season.
Ako Kaluna led NAU (2-9) with 23 points, making 8 of 14 field-goal attempts and 4 of 5 from the line.
The Lumberjacks committed a season-high 25 turnovers.
"Our turnovers killed us. That just can't happen," NAU coach Jack Murphy said. "We definitely saw growth and executed offensively in the second half. After we were able to control their run, we played them competitively for the rest of the game. Next up for us is conference play. We host Montana at the Walkup Skydome on New Year's Eve, and that's our focus now."
