A day after sending outfielder Ryan LaMarre to the mound during a 14-1 loss to the New York Yankees, the Minnesota Twins are adding another arm to their struggling bullpen.
Minnesota recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Duffey from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday. Alan Busenitz was optioned to Rochester on Monday.
Now in his fourth season with the Twins, Duffey made 56 relief appearances last season, finishing with a 4.94 ERA and a 1.366 WHIP in 71 innings of work. Duffey has allowed just three hits and two runs, neither of them earned, in 11 innings for Rochester this year.
