Twins split squads tie Phillies, fall to Red Sox

Jose Berrios pitched 2 1/3 innings and newcomer Jonathan Schoop hit a two-run home run, as a Minnesota Twins split squad tied the Philadelphia Phillies 3-3 in a game that was called following the ninth inning.

Stephen Gonsalves started for the Twins' other split squad, going three innings, while third baseman Ehire Adrianza had two hits in a 9-7 loss to the Boston Red Sox.

Outfielder Max Kepler and designated hitter Lucas Duda had two hits each against the Phillies.

Pat Dean, Martin Perez, Preston Guilmet, Ryan Eades and Ryne Harper also pitched for the Twins against Philadelphia.

Second baseman Adam Rosales and catcher Brian Navarreto homered for the Twins against Boston, while Chase De Jong, Dario Alvarez, Mike Morin and Andrew Vasquez also pitched against the Red Sox.
