UCF's George O'Leary reportedly interested in remaining AD, leaving coaching

George O'Leary will be pulling double duty for the UCF Knights this season, working as both the head football coach and interim athletics director. But given his druthers, he would reportedly like to have one job going forward, and not the one he has long held.

According to Dan Wolken of USA TODAY Sports, anonymous sources say O'Leary has indicated he would like to remain the AD and step down as the football coach after the season.

O'Leary has been involved with collegiate or professional football for the past 35 years, but always as part of a coaching staff. He arrived at the University of Central Florida in 2004 and is 81-60 at the school with four conference titles and three bowl victories, including toppling Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl after the 2013 season.
