UCLA wins second straight NCAA water polo title

LOS ANGELES (AP) Ryder Roberts had two goals and two assists and top-ranked UCLA won its second straight NCAA water polo title, beating Southern California 10-7 on Sunday night.

Patrick Fellner also had two goals to help the Bruins (30-0) win their 10th title and break the school record for victories in a season set in 1988 and matched in 2014.

Lachlan Edwards had two goals for Southern California (22-7), also the runner-up last season. The Trojans reached the final for the 11th consecutive year.

Goalie Garrett Danner had 13 saves for UCLA, and USC's McQuin Baron finished with 12.

UCLA took its first lead at 5:22 of the second and never relinquished it, though USC came within one three times in the third period.
