LOS ANGELES (AP) Alex Roelse scored four goals and undefeated UCLA beat UC San Diego 17-4 on Saturday to advance to the NCAA water polo championship game.

The defending champion Bruins (29-0) will face Southern California in the title game. The Trojans beat California 8-6 in the second semifinal. Last year, UCLA beat USC 9-8 in the title game.

UCLA matched the school victory record set in 1988.

Danny McClintick added three goals for UCLA. Chase Cockerill scored twice for the Tritons (15-14).

UCLA scored first on Ryder Ryan's goal and got another 43 seconds later from Patrick Fellner.

UCSD's Tyler Mancuso scored with 1:30 remaining to cut the deficit to one, but it is as close as the Tritons would get. UCLA scored seven goals in the second quarter to take a 9-2 lead.

In the second half, UCLA's Roelse scored two goals in 48 seconds to make it 11-2.

UCLA goalie Garrett Danner had 19 stops in three quarters.
