Very superstitious: Cubs to leave Schwarber home run ball atop right-field video board
Intially, no one was certain where Schwarber's solo shot, which cushioned the Cubs' lead to 6-4, had traveled. Logic dictated that it came down on Sheffield Avenue behind Wrigley Field but eventually an overhead traffic camera and an architect seated in the in the right-field upper-deck corner helped solve the mystery.
“We were watching and looking,” Tom Comings, an architect for Tribune Publishing told the Chicago Tribune. “Nobody actually saw where it went at first and then instantly I said ‘There it is, on top of the scoreboard.' I put the picture on Twitter, and pictures from the seventh-inning stretch that clearly shows there was no ball up there then... It had to ricochet perfectly to land there.”
The Cubs have since verified that the ball on the video board is indeed the Schwarber home run ball by virtue of its MLB postseason watermark.

The source said the Cubs will decide what to do with the ball after the season but wanted to leave it there for now as a memento of the Game 4 win. The Cubs are building a plexiglass case to preserve it from the elements, and will place it on top of the ball Wednesday afternoon.
