Vikings place Peterson on IR; RB could return in Week 11

The Minnesota Vikings have placed running back Adrian Peterson on injured reserve.
The 31-year-old suffered a torn meniscus in the third quarter of a 17-14 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, and had surgery on Thursday.
The move means Peterson is eligible to play again this season, but would not be available until Week 11.

The Vikings also placed Matt Kalil on injured reserve earlier this week, but can active just one player from that list for the remainder of the season.
