The Minnesota Vikings traded up 10 spots to get their guy in the fifth round (No. 157 overall): Central Michigan tight end Tyler Conklin.
Minnesota swapped its fifth-round pick (No. 167 overall) and a seventh-rounder (No. 225 overall) to move into the New York Jets' slot in the fifth round.
Conklin missed the first five games of his senior season in 2017 with injury but still managed to grab 28 passes for 406 yards and five touchdowns.
During his freshman year, Conklin played basketball at Northwood University. He transferred to Central Michigan the following year and finished his collegiate career with 76 receptions for 1,061 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Conklin joins Minnesota's tight end corps that already includes Kyle Rudolph and David Morgan.
