LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook stands to receive a six-figure bonus for the Cornhuskers' national championship.

The athletic department's postseason bonus policy calls for Cook to be paid an extra $114,000. That's 25 percent of his base salary of more than $456,000.

Executive associate athletic director and CFO John Jentz said Tuesday the bonus would be paid ''pending a successful evaluation'' of Cook by the administration.

Under department policy, coaches who win national titles in sports other than football and basketball are in line for 25-percent bonuses. Head coaches in football and basketball have different structures. Cook's assistant coaches also are to receive 25-percent bonuses.

Nebraska defeated Texas on Dec. 19 in the national championship match.

Cook has been head coach since 2000 and is under contract through January 2020.
