Watch: Hawks' Dennis Schroder gets tooth knocked out, stuffs it in sock for safekeeping

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 6:50 p.m. ET

Early in the fourth quarter against Portland on Monday, Hawks guard Dennis Schroder got some dental work performed for free, courtesy Trail Blazers big man Meyers Leonard.

Schroder was trying to navigate a sea of bodies inside when he lost his footing and slammed his jaw/head into Leonard's knee. At about the 0:22 mark in the video you can see the tooth fall from Schroder's mouth and bounce to the hardwood.

Of course the show must go on and the Blazers got an easy bucket off the turnover at the other end while Schroder was securing the tooth inside his sock. Now you know why these guys don't wear quarter socks.
