Each day we'll bring you the very latest tabloid rumors as the biggest clubs around look to splash the cash to bolster their rosters. True or not, they're always entertaining...

The Daily Express claims a senior Manchester United source has told the club that Real Madrid would not allow Keylor Navas to fly to Manchester for a medical, and also put pressure on the goalkeeper's agent not to return the Premier League club's calls.

And while United did file the relevant paperwork for the David De Gea deal in time, it is claimed, Real did not, amid suggestions they had gone cold on replacing Navas with the Spain international goalkeeper.

Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin rejected a deadline-day transfer to London rivals Crystal Palace and is now resigned to staying at the Championship outfit for the rest of the season.

West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino is set to be fined by the Baggies after his deadline-day attack on chairman Jeremy Peace on Twitter - and his failure to secure the move he wanted hindered Tony Pulis' plans for incoming players.

West Brom boss Pulis reportedly 'feels some sympathy' for the forward, the newspaper claims, and was happy to let him leave in order to fund moves for Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips and striker Charlie Austin.

Tottenham had four bids rejected for Berahino over the course of the transfer window, with Peace said to have been irritated by the club's proposed schedule of payments for the striker.

But Spurs 'insisted they conducted their business properly and also point out that dialogue was opened with Albion over a possible deal nearly three months ago'.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's reported interest in Paris Saint-Germain's Uruguayan hitman Edinson Cavani was 'overstated', a club source has reportedly told the newspaper.

A move for Real Madrid's French striker Karim Benzema was 'never a serious possibility', while the Gunners decided against making a move for PSG's Adrien Rabiot and Sevilla's Grzegorz Krychowiak.

Monaco striker Dimitar Berbatov priced himself out of a move back to the Premier League after Aston Villa refused to meet his wage demands on transfer deadline day.

Senior figures at Monaco claim Manchester United have agreed an initial £36million fee for Anthony Martial which could reach £58million depending on bonuses and add-ons.
