Wiggins, Towns, LaVine to play in Rising Stars game
Second-year players Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine, as well as rookie Karl-Anthony Towns, will represent the Minnesota Timberwolves at the 2016 Rising Stars Challenge on Feb. 12 in Toronto.
LaVine and Towns will play for Team USA, while the Toronto-born Wiggins will compete for Team World.
Last season's Rookie of the Year, Wiggins led Team World to a 121-112 win in the 2015 Rising Stars game, scoring 22 points, while LaVine chipped in 22 points for Team USA.
The Wolves appear to be on pace for a second consecutive ROY award thanks to Towns.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Towns is second amongst all rookies in scoring with 16.1 points per game, and leads the class of 2015 in rebounding (9.7 per game) field goal percentage (53.3) double-doubles (22) and blocks (1.76 per game).
