Wild place forward Carter on injured reserve

Minnesota Wild center Ryan Carter has been placed on injured reserve after aggravating a hand injury.

In his place the Wild have recalled forward Tyson Strachan from the Iowa Wild.

A fifth-round draft pick in 2003, the 31-year-old Strachan ranks second on Minnesota's AHL affiliate with 34 penalty minutes, and also has two assists.

Now in his second season with Minnesota, Carter has four goals and two assists in 39 games this year.
